The following is just a sample of the many services provided by the physicians at
Twin Falls Orthopedics.
Palliative Care
Our podiatric physician offers palliative care for debridement of corns and calluses,
reduction of nails, padding of pressure points in shoes, treatment of dry cracked
heels and skin. These treatments are often useful to the elderly and people whose
medical conditions put them at risk for foot infections and/or amputations.
Surgical Treatments
Our podiatric physician also offers outpatient surgical treatment of Bunions, Hammertoes,
Neuromas, Fractures, Bone Spurs and Arthritic Joints. Many of these procedures can
be done on an outpatient basis with regional anesthetic and intravenous sedation.
Ingrown Toenails and Wart excision can be performed in the office under a simple
local anesthetic.
Sports Medicine
Our office also treats a variety of sports medicine complications including: sprains,
strains, tendonitis and other overuse injuries. The use of steroid injections, physical
therapy modalities and orthotics (Custom Molded Arch Supports) are often helpful
for these conditions.
Wound Care
Also included in podiatry is the treatment of acute or chronic wounds. These wounds
have a variety of causes, including venous stasis problems, arterial circulatory
problems, injuries, or metabolic conditions such as Diabetes. In fact, Diabetic
foot ulcers are the leading cause of lower extremity amputations in the United States.
The sooner these wounds can be recognized and aggressively treated the better the
chance of retaining a functional foot. This office is experienced in the daily management
and debridement of wounds as well as the surgical treatment that may be required.
